30 April – Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd and Northport (Malaysia) Bhd have recently announced a milestone collaboration, marking a significant step forward in sustainable mobility and operational efficiency. The two companies have deployed three units of the Proton e.MAS 7 electric vehicle (EV) for Northport’s auxiliary police patrol fleet. As Malaysia’s No. 1 electric vehicle model, the e.MAS 7 is set to revolutionize green security operations, setting a new benchmark in eco-friendly security measures.
This development is noteworthy as it also makes Northport the first company and port operator in Malaysia to purchase and operate the e.MAS 7 under a fleet arrangement. This partnership highlights Northport’s leadership in adopting corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts and reinforces its commitment to promoting sustainable transport solutions. By integrating the e.MAS 7 into its operations, Northport demonstrates how the logistics and port industry can align with sustainability goals while ensuring operational efficiency.
The deployment of the Proton e.MAS 7 aligns with both companies’ shared commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting greener alternatives in Malaysia’s growing industrial sector. As electric vehicles become an increasingly viable solution for commercial fleets, this initiative paves the way for more companies to follow suit, pushing the boundaries of sustainability and leading by example.
This move also marks a significant advancement in Malaysia’s transportation landscape, combining state-of-the-art technology with practical, environmentally conscious solutions. Proton’s e.MAS 7 electric vehicle is helping to shape a future where sustainable transport is not only possible but also actively pursued, contributing to cleaner, greener, and more efficient operations across sectors.
